The Cookery is our new annual training and professionalisation programme, which will debut its first edition between 23 and 29 January 2023.

For the next two months we're very pleased to have Studio Above&Below in residency at iMAL Founded by Daria Jelonek and Perry-James Sugden, Studio Above&Below is a London-based art, design and technology studio.
Their residency project at iMAL will lead to an immersive experience and speculative future scenario which explores Brussels ecosystem in regards to the present and future coexistence between humans and non-human species.

It’s with great pride that we can announce the selected artists who will become part of the 25AV 2023 official roster!
Out of an impressive pool of 279 applicants, the independent committee has selected 18 eclectic and diverse artistic couples. The 18 selected projects are exhibited in 3 leading art spaces in Milan at Triennale Milano, in Munich at ZIRKA and in Brussels at iMAL. 3 projects will also be selected for a residency at iMAL.

Together with Gluon we've been developing different workshops with schools where we challenge students to prototype innovative solutions using a PlugNPlay toolbox of sensors and the online platform plugnplay.gluon.be.
On Saturday 19.11 we present a free showcase that will present the PlugNPlay project with a variety of participants showing the results of their experiments with the toolbox.

iMAL is launching Realities In Transition together with lead-partner Biennale Chroniques and in collaboration with L.E.V. Festival, KONTEJNER, Ars Electronica, Dark Euphoria & V2_
Realities In Transition will focus on building a strong independent European XR creative and activist community, a think tank and practice sharing net, all within the context of the ever changing digital challenges.

This fossil bears the traces of non-autonomous forms (viruses) seeking to subsist in the metabolism of archaic bacteria in the mineral. The affected bacteria thus followed the pattern of a cactoid formation within the pebble, creating the first micro-organic formations visible to the naked eye today.

The European Media Art Platform (EMAP), co-funded by Creative Europe, just opened its new #call for projects! European #artists or collectives can apply with a proposal for a two-months #residency taking place between March & October 2023.
